Maria CHILLON

María Chillón (Ourense, Spain 1982). Draftsman and engraver, lives and works in Paris at the Atelier Contrepoint since 2008. She studied art at the University of Salamanca for 5 years, including the 4th year at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome , thanks to an Erasmus grant. In 2008 obtained a DEA in Drawing and Engraving at the Complutense University of Madrid.

She has participated in numerous collective and individual exhibitions in Spain, Italy, France, Japan, South Korea, Belgium, Poland, Slovakia, Peru, Ireland, Argentina, China and Australia.


In 2021, she obtained the Lacourière engraving prize, in 2019 the Taylor Prize for watercolor drawing from the Taylor Foundation, in 2019 a special mention from the jury at the Pierre David-Weill-Académie des Beaux-Arts Drawing Prize, in 2018 the Encouragement Prize, in engraving from the Academy of Fine Arts of the Institut de France and the Form'ARTE Residence of Plastic Arts from the Spanish Ministry of Culture at the Colegio de España in Paris in 2016.
